Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Here are a few questions we get asked regularly. If your question isn’t covered here, just get in touch—we are always happy to help! You can reach us directly through our contact page.
GENERAL & MISCELLANEOUS
Do you still sell iron-on fabric and felt letters, numbers, and alphabets?
Unfortunately, no. I have closed the chapter on that side of craisymissdaisy to focus on some exciting new projects. The only applique items I now sell are iron-on felt advent numbers and snowflakes.
Do you offer discounts for larger orders?
Unfortunately, as my items are handmade by myself and not mass produced, I am unable to offer a standard discount for larger orders. I am, however, always happy to look at things on a per-order basis. If you are planning a particularly large project, just pop me an email and I’ll see what I can do to help.
POSTAGE & PROCESSING
Do you post internationally?
Yes, but only to the USA at the moment. I hope to expand to more countries down the line.
How long will it take to process my order?
I aim to get your order shipped within 3 to 5 working days. I always try to send things out as quickly as possible, but if there is ever a delay, I will email you straight away to let you know. Larger orders might take a bit longer, but we can chat about the timeline before you order.
Please keep in mind that processing times might stretch out a little during busy seasons and the run-up to Christmas.
Which postal service do you use?
For UK orders, I generally use Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48. However, I may occasionally use other couriers if it helps keep your delivery costs down.
For US orders, I use Royal Mail PDDP (Postal Delivered Duties Paid). This service includes any necessary customs fees in your checkout price, so you won’t get caught out by unexpected charges on delivery.
Every order is sent via a tracked service from here in the UK. Your shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on the weight and value of your items.
Why is your postage so expensive?
Everything I make is custom made-to-order, so replacing lost parcels is incredibly time-consuming and costly. After a lot of my packages went missing during the pandemic, I made the decision to switch to a 100% tracked shipping model.
While tracked services do cost a bit more, they give us both peace of mind. You can check your package at various stops along the way to see exactly when it should arrive.
Unfortunately, due to extra red tape, high costs, and paperwork, I no longer ship to Europe or Northern Ireland.
USING & CARING FOR YOUR APPLIQUES
Are the advent numbers and snowflakes easy to iron on?
Yes, they are very easy and fun to use! I include full, step-by-step application and care instructions with every single order.
Can the felt be washed?
No. The wool-blend felt I use is for decorative purposes only, so it cannot be washed by hand or machine. [1]
To keep your items looking fresh, you can:
- Give the felt a light clean with a soft brush.
- Use sticky tape or a lint roller to lift away dust and dirt.
- Gently wipe the surface with a dry cloth.
Some of the brighter and darker felt colours might bleed onto your pressing cloth during application. This is completely normal due to the fabric dye. Rest assured, it will only mark your ironing cloth, not the surrounding fabric.
Do you need to sew the advent numbers and snowflakes on?
You will need to sew or stitch around the edges if you are ironing onto items that get a lot of wear and tear. This includes:
- Christmas sacks, stockings, and bags.
- Fabrics with a “pile” or uneven surface.
- Items meant to hold heavy objects.
- Shiny or synthetic materials (like school book bags).
If your specific fabric isn’t listed here, or you aren’t sure whether you need to stitch your pieces, just drop me a message. I am always happy to help!
Which surfaces can you iron the advent numbers and snowflakes onto?
They can be ironed onto various materials including; canvas, cotton/poly cotton, felt, fleece, linen, paper/card and wood.
